So the internet is about to fall apart unless the EU replaces the US's ICANN with their own international body? There are fears that the US will abuse its power over the internet and drop off certain countries in the future. Suddenly the country that brought the world the internet is now the country that may take it away. Does anyone else see the irony in the fact that some of the most oppressive countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia and China are applauding this effort? Possibly there is a reason they want local control.
